South Machars Community Fridge

Our Community Fridge project allows us to work in partnership with local supermarkets Sainsbury’s, Aldi and Co-op to collect surplus, perishable food items to distribute to those within the South Machars area. This helps in the reduction of perfectly good food going to landfill. We will also accept non perishable goods to support and compliment the fresh food donations. The food on offer is available to anyone within the community.

The fridge is located within the right hand side doorway at the entrance leading to the main hall at the South Machars Community Centre, and is open Monday to Saturday during daytime hours.

The food on offer is available to anyone within the community, and is limited to 3 ITEMS PER PERSON so that everyone gets a fair share.

We hope that all who use this wonderful facility, will do so respectfully, taking only what they need for themselves and sharing with the community.
